Love and Recognition 5 More International High-level Professionals Naturalized as Citizens

The Ministry of the Interior held the "Committee Reviewing the Naturalization of High-level Professionals " in the afternoon of June 26 and approved that 5 high-level professionals such as Mr. Fu, an American expert in the society of visual anthropology and ethnographic documentary fields, have become naturalized the ROC citizens. Since the amendment of the Nationality Act on December 21, 2016, 91 foreign high-level professional talents who have provided long-term contributions in Taiwan, and love and identify with this land have become naturalized citizens without losing their original nationality.
The Ministry of the Interior indicated that the 5 high-level professionals who passed the review included 3 in the education, 1 in the economy, and 1 in the cultural fields. Among them, Mr. Su is an American who provided long-term contributions to theological studies as well as missionary and social services. He has served in many seminaries and nursing homes for vulnerable patients, and is very concerned about the Taiwanese aborigines’ culture. He personally went to the tribes to collect stories, and written the book "Charlie's Rabbit" based on Rukai folklores. His work has contributed to the inheritance and development of aboriginal literature.
Mr. Fu is an American who specializes in visual anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and ethnographic documentary. The anthropological blog (Anthrodendum) he operates was a warded the American Anthropological Association (AAA) Executive Director Award.His video creation also received the Jean Rouch Award from the Visual Anthropology Association. His long-term investments in aboriginal cultural studies has contributed to the revitalization of Taiwan's aboriginal culture, language education, and social condition promotion.
Mr. Wei is an Australian national-grade (A-grade) badminton coach. He represented Australia many times in various international competitions. He has rich experience in badminton international competitions and served as the coach of Taiwan's national badminton team many times. His lea dership has enabled players to achieve excellent results and contributed to thedevelopment of sports in Taiwan.
The Ministry of the Interior indicated that af ter becoming naturalized the ROC citizens, these high-level professionals shallbe entitled to participate in political affairs and enjoy various social welfare guarantees.
