Among them, there were 185male couples, 341 female couples, 511Taiwanese couples, and 15 couples where one party is Taiwanese and one party is a foreigner. Observations based on county or city indicated that New Taipei City ranked number one with 117 couples, followed by Taipei City with 95couples, and Kaohsiung City ranked third with 72 couples.
The first same-sex marriage registration was completed at 8:00:46 AM by the household administration office of Annan District in Tainan City. The first Taiwanese and foreigner couple completed their same-sex marriage registration at 8:05:37 AM in the Eastern District of Hsinchu City.
The Ministry of the Interior is grateful to the first-line household administration office colleagues for their equal and cordial attitudes, and treating the same-sex marriage couples who came to register with happy and blessing moods.
